About Raphael
Raphael serves as the founder and principal attorney at The Law Firm of Raphael Johnson. In founding the firm, Raphael combined his two passions – his love of the law and his love of business.
Prior to launching the firm, Raphael spent more than 16 years in the United States Army JAG Corps in a myriad of roles, working around the world supporting justice and the rule of law. He culminated at the Pentagon where he worked in the Legislation, Investigations, and Nominations Division of the Pentagon’s Office of Legislative Liaison. Prior to that role, Raphael worked as a Plans and Policy Officer at the Pentagon.

Before coming to Washington, Raphael managed Army legal offices around the United States and served as an Army Paratrooper in the Army’s 82nd Airborne Division. He also had postings in the Army's Old Guard which is the Army’s Ceremonial Unit and Official Escort to the President. Raphael is a proud combat veteran and possesses extensive knowledge of military legal and administrative processes and procedures. He leverages this experience and knowledge to benefit veteran clients around the world.

Along with his service in the Army JAG Corps, Raphael worked at the Mason Veterans and Servicemembers Legal Clinic (M-VETS) where he represented veterans in discharge upgrade petitions, VA disability claims, family law, and civil matters. Raphael earned his Juris Doctor from the George Mason University Antonin Scalia School of Law. He is admitted to practice law in the State of Texas and the District of Columbia. When he is not zealously representing the interests of his clients, Raphael serves as an adjunct professor and teaches undergraduate courses in business and management.
